How do meet and greets work?

A meet and greet is a free, optional in-person meeting between an owner and sitter before care begins. It gives the sitter a chance to meet your cat, learn their routine, and check home access before anyone commits.

Both owners and sitters can propose, confirm, or reschedule meet and greet times directly inside the CatsOnly booking conversation.

How to arrange a meet and greet

You can arrange a meet and greet in a few simple steps:

1. Request a meet and greet. When submitting a booking request, tick Request a free meet and greet. You can also propose one later in the booking thread.
2. Propose time slots. Open the booking conversation and click Propose Meet & Greet. Select 1 to 3 convenient dates and times before the booking start date, add an optional note, and send.
3. Confirm a time. The other person receives a notification, reviews the proposed slots in the conversation, and selects the time that suits them best.
4. Add to your calendar. Once accepted, you can download a calendar event (.ics) directly from the conversation card or use your synced calendar feed to automatically keep your personal calendar up to date.

What to cover during the visit

Use the meet and greet to walk through the practical details of your cat's care:

• Cat introduction: Let your cat meet the sitter at their own pace in their home environment.
• Feeding and water: Show food storage, portion sizes, feeding bowls, and fresh water routines.
• Litter care: Point out litter tray locations, cleaning tools, fresh litter supplies, and disposal bins.
• Medication and health: Demonstrate administration methods, timings, and storage if your cat needs medication.
• Home access and keys: Test keys, review alarm instructions, and discuss entry routines.
• Updates and emergencies: Agree how often you would like photo updates, and share vet details and emergency contacts.

Rescheduling or cancelling

If your schedule changes:

• Propose new times: Select Propose new times in the booking conversation to suggest different dates and times.
• Cancel: You can cancel a proposal you sent or cancel a confirmed meet and greet directly on the card in the booking conversation.

• Meet and greets are always free.
• Arranging a meet and greet does not confirm the booking. The booking is only confirmed once the sitter accepts the request and the owner completes payment through CatsOnly.
